Bolero has been the backbone of our bloodlines, because of his soundness & consistancy in throwing it & his type, we have gone on to use his sons in our breeding program. With his input of beautiful movement & horse type characteristics he has enabled us to get closer to achieving a consistant type. Also with the small gene he keeps throwing we have been able to bring the size down into miniature without losing the type & big movement as with his son Alqueria Bolero's Ole`. Ole is a great example of horse type & where we want to head with our breeding program. He is all horse in type & has flexible extreme movement not often seen in smaller ones, which he gets from his sire Bolero & dam from her welsh bloodlines. He is well balanced, sound & conformationally correct. Ole` has taken over from his sire Bolero as our main stallion & we are retaining one of his sons to continue on with. Luckily most our mares are not related to these bloodlines, this was done deliberatly so we didn't breed ourselves into a corner & so could keep using the Bolero line.

Manhattan is one of a kind, he is very much a horse in a small package. Because of his type, movement, correctness & sound, balanced conformation we have used him to breed a lot of our mares, which he has stamped well with his characteristics. We could not have got this far in our breeding plan without his input, as he has the ability to throw small without losing his qualities. We have been very lucky with the primary stallions we have used in our breeding program to have been able to find sound well balanced little horses that have the added gift to throw small, leggy, refined, horse types.

Arabesque is one of the most stylish horses at Alqueria his movement is eye catching not to mention his lovely small refined head that goes back the the FWF Little Boy Blue, line in the USA. Because of his grey colour we were hesitant to keep him as a stallion, due to the unpopularity of grey in miniature horses, but the quality of this horse and what he has to offer the miniature horse breed over-rides colour, as it always should in any stud. Arabesque has confirmed our decision to keep him at stud as being the best thing we could have done, with his first filly foal, Alqueria Simply Irresistible.

We are very excited about Montego, he has very strong lines on his dam's side (Fort Knox Cheerio)that have only welsh & Australian Pony that have been strongly line bred, making this line very pre-potent in type and conformation. His sire, Alqueria Bolero's Ole`, also has very refined horse type conformation, carrying the Miniature Horse bloodlines to bring the size down and Welsh in keeping with Cheerio. Montego is 'the horse' we have dreamt of breeding and we are looking forward to him producing more of the same type. Montego's sire Ole` has won many champions, supremes and a National State Grand Champion and National Grand Champion. So far Montego has had a great start to his show career,

Bravo is displaying the characteristics of the spotted gene, with his mottling, sclera & striped hooves & he is starting to frost out in the coat. He is a compact little horse and nicely balanced and correct.

Blizzard is a few spot appaloosa and therefore throws 100 percent colour. He has thrown outstanding foals with loud colour and continues to do so. We always look forward to seeing what pattern he will throw next. He is a lovely natured boy and throws it onto his foals. His foals are very much show quality so look out for them in the show ring, they are not easy to miss.
